There are many great restaurants, especially if you like the fish food!
Those moais are magical and sunrise tour is must!
Some things are very expensive there in Easter Island, example
renting a bike is 25€/24h !
I understand that some things in so isolated place is more expensive, but I think they have cartel in some business. Maybe they all don't understand that even they want to avoid the competition with each other, they will still have that competition with other vacation places. If people think it's too expensive, they go somewhere else.

You need to have interest in the history of the island.
You need to have interest in the history of the island. Showing up for a "resort style vacation" would be the wrong reason to go. We did a lot of homework and it was almost emotional to be there, especially after the island was run into the ground by greed.... You do need a guide to enter the parks. Sunscreen and water is your friend. You can stamp your passport, but not open on weekends.

I read on the internet:-
1. You could buy your ticket (USD80) for the National park at the airport. This is no longer the case. You have to buy your entry ticket in town.
2. Also, you could get your passport stamped with an Easter Island stamp at the post office. This is no longer the case. Go to the tourist information in town (sea front).

Unique island - fascinating history AND current culture.
Unique island - fascinating history AND current culture. We easily spent 22 nights. Not nearly as expensive as on-liine chats imply. We bought fresh and unknown-to-us vegetables and fruit in the market, so ate very well. Saved our pennies to go out for Pisco Sours! Did lots of walking, went on 2 horse back trips, and rented scooters on 2 days.

Rapa Nui is like this dream destination: an island in the middle of nowhere with an extremely interesting history and culture. The island has amazing nature and plenty of sites to visit. A long weekend is ok to see the highlights of the island, but if you want to include water sports then a bit more time has to be added to the trip.

From sunrise at Ahu Tongariki to sunset at Ahu Tahai the island does not disappoint. Having the requirement of a guide was a great way to understand the various sites and history behind the island. Historically Rapa Nui will have your mind going at all times in a good way. Fresh ceviche is available everywhere, and the town is easy to navigate and walk around and just enjoy the sun and breeze. Renting a 4-wheeler and driving around the island was a great experience.
The appartment/room we had in this hotel had direct view on the Pacific. It was very quit and had perfect beds and pillows. Spacious with enough storage space. It's a short walk to the main appartment were breakfast is served everyday between 8.30 and 10.30. The main host Carmen and her employees take good care of you and bring your food and drinks to your table on the veranda. Eggs are made per your wishes. Mineral water is available to fill your own flasks. In the vicinity are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops.
This hotel is amazing, the property is very nice, it is very well situated and most of all the people that work there are really helpful and nice. It's very close to the ocean, actually I had a partial view of it from my bed, the breakfast is one of the most complete, the pool is very nice also. But you simply don't need to spend time at the hotel on this small, but amazing island so as I comment below I believe the pricing was unreasonably high. Otherwise everything is just perfect.
absolutely gorgeous property with stunning gardens and a lovely warm swimming pool in the Center. We were delayed by a day because we did not know about the PCR test requirement for entering Easter Island (fyi!!) and they made a huge effort to ensure we were not charged even though we were a day late arriving. The staff also helped with bookings in Spanish! they could not have been more helpful. Another thing: our hotel was five
minutes from the waterfront ! great location!
Benjamin and his family are very warm, helpful and exceptional hosts. They made my stay on the island very special from the time I landed on Rapa Nui island. Benjamin welcomes every guest with a flower necklace (typical Polynesian greeting). Benjamin himself organises tours around the island and shared Rapa Nui history. Really loved staying at the Hostal and would totally recommend it.
The breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect. The staff (Feña, Nico and the other guys) were super friendly and help me with every question I had during my vacations. They receive each guest with a flower necklace at the airport and before we leave the hotel they gave us a CD with Rapa Nui music and a shell necklace... what a lovely gesture!
The room was large and very clean! The WiFi was fast. The staff was extremely friendly. The hotel provided transportation to and from the airport. The location was right off the main street and within walking distance to many of the attractions that one is able to see without a guide. They also offer some tours if one is interested...
I'ta, who runs the place , is a great guy. He knows a lot about pretty much everything Rapa Nui. He was always helpful and available to guests to deal with any issue or help make arrangements for tours, rentals, etc.
Nice quiet location just a block or two from main street.
The location is great - it's off the main road so it's quiet and you get a partial view of the ocean. They have water in the lobby so you can refill at any point in time and a communal fridge. AC in the room worked great. I forgot an adapter and the hotel provided me one.
Great location; peaceful environment. Distant from hanga roa but this is the reason to book this place. you have your space and the best view on sunrise. Warm welcome and attention during the stay; Carla is ready to answer you need.
A car is highly recommended.
I had a really lovely stay at Hare Uta. It's a beautiful luxury hotel with gorgeous grounds and the room was huge with a lovely view. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was great and there was a really nice spa and pool.
Excellent central location, steps from everything in Hanga Roa. Comfortable, clean room. Nice outside space for relaxing. Very hospitable and helpful owner. Breakfast was simple, but good. Overall, would highly recommend.
The staff, Yvonne was SUPERB, the absolute sweetest and went out of her way to try to help us out, particularly when our fight got canceled. The hotel is clean, quiet and very conveniently located.
Staff goes above and beyond! Personalized stay, very attentive to detail. Super nice, best hotel on the island!
Super fast Internet Wi-Fi with Starlink. Wifi worked better than at home!
The hotel was absolutely beautiful. Perfectly positioned with everything we needed . The breakfast was very generous and the staff helped us negotiate our travel plans instantly .
The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel is stylish and clean with a delicious breakfast to wake up to and a great location to start your adventures from!
Probably the best view in Rapa Nui. Lovely place with a great breakfast delivered to your room. Airport pick-up included. Very clean and a caring/helpful staff.
